One is as though nothing is a miracle ...
The other is as if everything is."

and a greater ability to understand and transform
perceptions into intellectual and emotional experiences."

This is me, with blonde hi-lights, hiding my natural auburn red hair !These are my 'children', Alexander and DanielThis is me, too -- with short hair -- but with my natural auburn red haircolor !

This is me, Donna O'Smolláin-MacDhádhoc, AKA Lady Dorothea in the "cyber world" .... I am a native of Birmingham, Alabama, and I work as an RN with Adult Oncology patients in the "real world" -- in addition to my nursing degree, I also hold a B.A. in journalism from Auburn University, my beloved alma mater !! .... I love reading, graphic design, cooking, good literature & poetry, beautiful art (especially the Impressionists), needlework, singing, most kinds of music (esp. classical, celtic & "kick ass" rock-n-roll -- Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Bach, The Who, Bruce Springsteen, The Eagles, U2, Loreena McKennitt, Bo Bice, Ace Young, Taylor Hicks, The Doors, Stevie Nicks, just to name a few), live theatre and movies, studying Celtic/Medieval history & folklore/World religions/American politics & political science, good conversation, collecting books (five full bookcases in my house -- on a million different topics), intelligent & openminded people, good coffee, etc etc etc.

I also love being a *mommy* to my feathered "child": Daniel , a sun conure parrot, as well as to my "furry" child, an adorable black-n-white RagaMuffin cat Alexander Sron Dubh -- "Xander" -- ("sron dubh" is Gaelic for "dark nose", as Xander has a teardrop-shaped black spot on his sweet little nose!)

I am basically an easy person to get to know, but I don't "let you in" -- inside my soul -- until I've "checked you out" a bit -- that seems to be an Aquarian trait, and considering I'm an Aquarius (with an Aries moon and Pisces rising), well ? .... I can talk with just about anyone, about most subjects in life, and I can honestly say I love to learn & grow, I love to learn from others, and I love to be with uplifting, well-read people !! ...... Put me in a room of narrowminded folks and I'll be bored in two minutes -- put me with people who think and do for themselves and you've got me for life !!

I am a Christian -- an Episcopalian -- meaning that I follow Christ as my Lord, and I pray to Him and to God the Father .... I occasionally pray the Rosary, a prayer honoring the Virgin Mary, whom I see as the Mother of all Christians (but please don't worship her -- Mary is to be loved & honored but never worshipped! ) ... St. Therese of Lisieux ("The Little Flower") is my patron saint, as St. Therese believed that "in the small things we do for people, we are touching them for Christ" -- As an RN, I do "small things" for my patients everyday, such as getting them a drink of water, or changing a bandage, and I see every "small act" like that as my way of ministering to them in Christ's Love ....

I also believe very strongly in prayer, and I am committed to praying for people.... I have prayer candles which I light daily for many people, and I honestly enjoy praying for people and their needs -- Through prayer, God has allowed me to witness miracles of healing, grace, and mercy in my own life and within my family.

I am also "in touch" with my ancestral Celtic pagan roots (Irish, Scottish & a little English), and I have a deep reverence for the beautiful Earth .... Everyone knows that christianity adopted many pagan rituals & beliefs in it's infancy stage, and I see nothing wrong with studying our pagan ancestry while still embracing Christ and Christianity -- the key for me is that while I may *study* my celtic/pagan ancestry, I am an unashamed Follower of Christ -- He is the One who has touched and changed my life, and I love Him with all my heart !

Of course, I am not your "fluffy bunny", americanized, Jerry Falwell-version of a Christian -- I follow the Christ who lived and loved among the people, the One who condemned the religious leaders of His day for hypocrisy and false teachings (Thanks to my parents for "raisin' me right" !) .... I truly think if Christ were here today, He would be appalled at what the American "church" has become, and I think He would be among the "sinners" of our society, offering them hope and love, and NOT blaming "pagans and homosexuals" for the "evil" in the world (Thank you Mr. Falwell -- now go back under that rock you crawled out from under !) ... In fact, read the following passage from "Paul vs. Jesus" by Davis D. Danizier -- this one paragraph sums up what I believe about Jesus, and I think you will see what I mean:

"In stark contrast to Paul's teaching of salvation by faith APART FROM behavioral manifestations, Jesus Himself (in Matt. 7:21-27), states unequivocally that the mere profession of accepting Him is not enough, but that such a profession MUST BE backed up by deeds. Jesus teaches a salvation of universal compassionate love expressed in ACTION. It is the centerpiece of everything He taught. And Jesus himself consistently expressed love and closeness to sinners, lepers, tax collectors and other outcasts, while saving His rare words of harshness and anger for the Pharisees and Saducees -- the pompous, self-righteous administrators of the established religious orthodoxy." (emphasis original)
.... All I can say here is -- "Amen and Amen" !

*Look, I know that Jerry Falwell recently died, and I am sorry, but the man said some really stupid things during his lifetime, and I can't forget the many people he hurt with his words -- He may have truly loved God, but he wasn't so good with many of God's children, and his "legacy" will live on, unfortunately for some .... Don't email me to "condemn" me and my opinion of the late Dr. Falwell -- You won't change my mind or my heart on this one !!*

I hope you will enjoy your visit to my Celtic Castle, and I bid you to come again .... I will be adding new graphics from time to time (I'm actually obsessed with this site and with making new graphics, so I will be adding new things all the time !!) ..... Please feel free to visit me anytime, and may each visit be a pleasant one !! ....... Many Blessings to you and yours !!

I guess this means I'm a 'book and language snob', which is probably true !

You speak eloquently and have seemingly read every
book ever published. You are a fountain of
endless (sometimes useless) knowledge, and
never fail to impress at a party. What people love:
You can answer almost any question people ask,
and have thus been nicknamed "Jeeves"
(or "Computer Brain"). What people hate: You
constantly correct their grammar and insult
their paperbacks.
