The Scoring Process

The Rose Awards will be judged in the four catergories listed below, with the chance to earn a total of 100 points.
Because the Rose Awards are geared toward excellence in design, web sites will be judged in fine detail and the awards given out only to those web masters/mistresses who are mastering the art of web design. |
(1) General Criteria -- 0 to 20 points
(2) Content -- 0 to 35 points
(3) Design -- 0 to 25 points
(4) Navigation -- 0 to 20 points |

 The Rose Merit (69-74 points): Like a gentle rosebud which is just beginning to show it's "colors", the website receiving the Merit award doesn't quite meet all the criteria, but is still a joy & pleasure to view, and I feel the web designer deserves recognition for their hard work !

 The Rose Bronze (75-80 points): Like a rose which is beginning to open up it's petals and face the world, the website receiving the Bronze award is on it's way to excellence, but just needs more time & practice ... The web designer is creative, original and hardworking, and with time, they too will be the "best of the best" in all categories.

 The Rose Silver (81-87 points): Like a rose whose petals are opening up to drink in the sun, the website receiving the Silver award hasn't quite achieved the design expertise of the gold & platinum winners, but they are well on their way ! ... This web designer is only a few strokes away from perfection, and their web site is a testament to skill, hard work, and devotion !

 The Rose Gold (88-94 points): Like a rose whose petals are almost completely open -- almost perfect -- the website receiving the Gold award is "near perfect" in every way, with only a bare minimum of errors ... This web designer is very close to being at Platinum level, but just needs to "firm" things up a bit .... This is a web site which reaches out and grabs my eyes & my heart from the beginning, a true wonder to behold !

 The Rose Platinum (95-100 points): Like a rose in full bloom, revealing all of it's beauty & glory, the website receiving the Platinum award is as close to perfection as there is on the Net: Stimulating & thought-provoking content, wonderful choices in colors, layout & design, excellent use of graphics, minimal spelling/punctuation/grammatical errors, free-flowing navigation, highly creative and beautiful in overall site design -- A webpage which reaches out and grabs my attention from the opening page, never letting go ! ... The web designer is a true *master*, and they have achieved design perfection!
